National Gallery Global Limited has awarded Miniclipper Logistics with a three-year contract to manage its retail warehousing and transport requirements.

This includes storing and delivering merchandise to the National Gallery shops in Trafalgar Square and managing fulfilment for its global e-commerce business which stocks over 1,300 items for sale online.

The new contract was migrated into Miniclipper Logistics’ Houghton Regis warehouse in April with pallet deliveries three times a week to the National Gallery retail team, and online orders shipped directly via Miniclipper Logistics’ courier partner to customers ordering through the website.

To accommodate a storage operation of over 1,000 different products, Miniclipper Logistics has installed the award winning, renewable Forest Stewardship Council approved Pallite storage solution. This is a 100% recyclable solution constructed from honeycomb paper cardboard, which creates multiple shelving spaces in the National Gallery’s dedicated area within Miniclipper’s 57,000 square foot warehouse.

The National Gallery has over 2,600 paintings including Van Eyck’s The Arnolfini Portrait (1434), Velázquez’s The Rokeby Venus (1647-51), Turner’s The Fighting Temeraire (1839) and Van Gogh’s Sunflowers (1888).  The shop ranges are inspired by the permanent collection of paintings in the Gallery and exhibitions, and cover wide-ranging categories including homeware, accessories, apparel, seasonal merchandise, custom prints, gifts and National Gallery books. Next year, the Gallery celebrates its bicentenary, 200 years of bringing people and paintings together with a year-long festival of art, creativity and imagination which will set the tone for their third century.

Jon Parish, Commercial Director at Miniclipper Logistics said: “We are proud to be a partner of the National Gallery. The migration has gone very smoothly, and we look forward to contributing to the growth of the Gallery’s commercial business as they head towards a landmark year in 2024.”

Peter Male, Business Strategy Director, National Gallery Global Limited, said of the new partnership: “When it comes to finding a reliable warehouse supplier, I’d thoroughly recommend Miniclipper Logistics. They provide exceptional service, friendly and professional staff, and an impressive seamless migration process.”
