- Turnover rose by 15% from 2023 to 2024
- Gross profit margin increased to 44%
- Net assets have increased from £9,042,113 to £10,961,502
- Significant investment in the business continues including a new transport depot in the East Midlands and the completion of the redevelopment and expansion of the Leighton Buzzard site
A growth in revenue and improved gross profit margin contributed to Miniclipper Logistics reporting improved profit before tax to its second highest level and its best ever turnover performance in the 53-year history of the family-owned business with net assets increasing by almost £2million. This follows significant investment in both the company’s storage and transport operations as part of their ongoing growth strategy and despite the challenge economic environment the industry is facing.
In October 2023, Miniclipper officially launched a second distribution centre in Burton-Upon-Trent, recruiting an additional 12 drivers, a transport team leader and transport manager to support the growing operation.
During the last year, the company has also moved to an ‘owned’ model of procurement rather than fixed term leasing for both fleet and Manual Handling Equipment creating tangible assets.
The redevelopment and expansion of the Leighton Industrial Park site in Leighton Buzzard was fully operational and fully occupied by October 2023. As well as expanding into a 130,000 sq. ft facility, substantial works were undertaken on the site to renovate the mezzanine floor, resurface the yard, and erect a canopy for unloading and loading in all weather conditions.
“Investment has been our strategic priority since 2021; We have redeveloped and expanded both in size and geographically to ensure the business is equipped to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future” explained Peter Masters, Miniclipper Logistics, MD.
“Despite a backdrop of challenging trading conditions across the logistics industry, particularly in the road transport sector, the results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole Miniclipper team and the loyalty of our customers through these difficult times”.
