In the past twelve months, Miniclipper has introduced several new recycling initiatives into the business as part of our waste management strategy, and our company wide ambition to be more environmentally conscientious.

Earlier this year, we invested in baling equipment to recycle the plastic and cardboard waste from our warehousing and transport operations. Utilising waste compactors, we are compressing waste material into bales which is collected by our waste partner, Cawleys for their recycling programmes. As well as the sustainability benefits, this also creates cost savings on transport and disposal costs.

Miniclipper’s head office is also trialing the Cawleys ‘Infinity’ programme, segregating recycling waste, which keeps it cleaner, dryer and easier to recycle.

Like Miniclipper Logistics, Cawleys is a third-generation family run business, with a passion for customer service, offering sustainable solutions to sort, treat and recycle all classifications of waste.

Jon Parish, Miniclipper’s Commercial Director said “Partnering with Cawleys has enabled us to trial and introduce a number of new recycling programs to the business. As experts in waste management solutions, we are confident that these projects are both cost-effective and ethical, enabling us to deliver sustainable solutions that will benefit our business, our customers, our community and our planet”.

In addition to the work with Cawleys, new shredding machines have been installed at our Leighton Buzzard Head Office and the Dunstable Transport Operation Office creating an economical, sustainable product to use as packaging infill for some of our storage customer’s carton and parcel consignments.   The next project is to look at recycling the wood from damaged and old pallets, working with experts who can reuse the timber waste, refurbishing into new pallets or sending to a commercial wood chipping facility for reuse in areas such as large scale landscaping projects.

Last year, Miniclipper Logistics produced their first ever Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report which outlines the initiatives that we have collectively achieved as a business which can be viewed by clicking here
